Mocktails

A mocktail is essentially a cocktail without a drop of alcohol. Mocktails can be great for consumers who want to be health-conscious or don't want a big hangover in the morning. The rise in this trend is due to product quality as well as a broader public interest in decreasing alcohol intake.

Create a tasty beverage with a few simple steps by incorporating the five essential tastes our brains recognize. These main flavors include:

  • Bitter: Coffee, grapefruit, hops, cocoa give off bitterness resembling alcoholic drinks.
  • Salty: Sea salt, olives, brine or other flavors can be used for saltiness. Salt also amplifies other ingredients' tastes.
  • Sour: Use acidic items like tomatoes, vinegar, citrus, and veggies for sourness.
  • Spicy: Spice it up with wasabi, ginger, chili, or hot sauce.
  • Sweet: Sweeten with honey, fruit, maple syrup, or molasses.
  • To present your mocktails, we recommend looking through our Cocktail Glasses

    Coffee-Less Coffee

According to The Guardian, wild coffee species are under threat, with 60% of them facing possible extinction. Coffeeless coffee was originally created by atomocoffee.com and is made from upcycled ingredients which include parts of the plant that is usually discarded, sunflower seed husks and watermelon seeds. This process mimics the flavour of coffee minus the coffee bean. Drinking beanless coffee uses 94% less water, 93% less carbon emissions, reduces food waste and reduces deforestation in tropical rainforests due to climate change in growing regions.

If you want to introduce coffeeless coffee to your customers, we recommend browsing through our Tea and Coffee Glasses.

    Slushies

This new TikTok trend is going viral for creating any kind of drink into a frozen one. Creators are using all types of glasses from martini glasses to shot glasses to design different drinks that work well with the taste of the slushie and creating them with slushy cups, blenders and slush machines. The trend for alcoholic slush cocktails shows no signs of slowing as consumers are looking for added texture and fun from their drink experience. When creating slushies, you can use any drink you want including wine, spirits and soft drinks.

If you want to start creating slushies for your customers, we recommend looking through our Glassware and Barware.

    Nostalgic Drinks

Since the pandemic, consumer habits are leaning towards retro-themes, perhaps as a reminder of simpler times. And there is no better place to evoke a childhood memory than with a favourite drink. According to Bidfood, 57% find the idea of nostalgic or retro themed drinks appealing including sweet treats, cocktails, milkshakes and spirits. Chefs and bartenders can tap into the nostalgia and update beloved classic drinks into modern twists.

A few examples of some nostalgic drinks are:

  • Snowball
  • Apple Sourz
  • Brandy Alexander Cocktail
  • Toasted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate
  • Old Fashioned
  • Black Forest Milkshake
  • If you want to create some nostalgic drinks for your customers, we recommend looking though our Glassware and Barware.
