Types of Ice Machines We Recommend

Flake Ice Machines

Flake ice is a form of small ice which has an irregular wafer shape, and is a form of dry supercooled ice. This type of ice is produced by spraying or pouring water onto a cooled surface, usually in the form of a cylinder or drum. The thin ice sheets (2-3mm thick) are formed on the surface of the water. Flake Ice is a popular option for consumers as it can be safely chewed compared to nugget ice which has more liquid content.

The stainless steel, energy efficient, ICE-O-MATIC Flake Ice Machine is the perfect solution to creating the perfect flake ice for consumers as it creates 70kg of ice per 24 hours, has a 25kg integral ice storage bin and has an easy access to the ice.

Countertop Ice Machine

Countertop ice makers, also known as portable ice makers, churn out ice cubes on a regular schedule.

Water is pumped into the water container and metal prongs lower into the water. refrigerant travels through the prongs as vapor, lowering the temperature of the prongs, freezing the water and producing ice.

Similar to refrigerators and freezers, these machines need to be kept turned on all the time if you need ice constantly.

The stainless steel Arctica Counter Top Ice Machine provides 12kg of ice per 24 hours and comes with an ice scoop to prevent bacteria (biofilm) and the spread of common contagions such as Covid-19. The ice cubes size are approximately 2.3cm x 2cm in a hollow bullet shape.

Ice Machine Bin

Ice bins take in ice from an industrial ice maker and store it. Ice bins are used to store large amounts of ice and measures how much ice is being created to prevent overflows and freeze ups.

Unlike the countertop and flake machines, the ice machine bin will need to be turned off if the water supply needs to be cut off for several hours, or if the bin needs to be removed for a period of time.

The stainless steel ICE-O-MATIC Ice Machine with Ice Bin produces up to 240kg of ice per 24 hours with a 160kg storage bin and produces a full cube shape ice which is 22mm x 22mm x 22mm in size. The Ice machine bin is also very easy to clean as it has a Smart LED light which indicates the machine status and when cleaning is required.

Slush Machine

The slush machine stirs or rotates the mixture at a constant speed so that the sugar and water molecules bond together before the water gets a chance to freeze.

Regular slush product can stay in overnight mode for a maximum of 72 hours. This is of course dependent on proper cleaning and sanitisation of equipment.

The Blue Ice Two Tank Slush Machine takes 30-40 minutes production time of 2 x 9 litres and is supplied with a free starter package of 1000 servings of slush syrup, 1000 cups and 1000 spoon straws.
