Chef Wat Sang

Chef Wat Sang has been creating beautiful sushi and sashimi dishes that have been 'wowing' his many followers on instagram. This sushi dish has been made with Shrimp tempura, salmon, unagi, avocado, and green tobiko for the outside.

Sushi fact 1

Even though many believe Sushi is originally from Japan, it is actually more likely originated from around China and the dish was called nare-zushi.

There is a local delicacy known as funazushi which is fermented freshwater Japanese carp. Many people claim it tastes similar to stinky cheese as it is left to cure for two years!

A foodie from Edinburgh (Robyn) has been travelling up and down the UK and other parts of the world to find hidden gems, restaurant interiors and foodie hotspots. This sushi dish was made from sashimi ordered from @soldeliuk, and put together with muki amaebi sweet prawn, akami blue fin tuna, trout roe and uni (sea urchin). Served with sushi rice topped with pickled ginger, sliced carrots, seaweed and sesame seeds.

Sushi has many health benefits. aside from being low in fat and high in protein, the fish is full of omega-3 fatty acids, which protects the heart and blood vessels from disease.

Did you know that it takes 10 years to become a sushi master? Working with a master or itamae, the first few years are spent learning how to hold a sushi knife correctly and the next 5 years are spent preparing sushi rice, mastering recipes. The next step is called wakiita meaning they get to chop up things for the sushi. Once graduating, the learner becomes the master and can finally serve customers themselves.
