  3. What Will the Top Restaurant Décor Trends Be in 2017?
Lockhart Interior Restaurant Décor Trends
Out with the old, and in with the new – the typically quieter month of January is the ideal time for restaurant owners to consider giving the décor a makeover.

Whether that’s a fresh lick of paint and some new tableware, or even a full re-fit ready for a successful year ahead.

Whatever your business plans may be the coming year, if a new look for your restaurant is on the agenda then you’ll be interested to hear about the top restaurant interior design trends that have been predicted for 2017. From warm copper tones to zesty greens, here are the interior design trends you’ll be inspired by this year.

Add warmth and glamour with metallic copper

Already a huge interiors trend for 2016, the love affair with copper looks set to continue throughout 2017 - and the great news is that it’s very easy to incorporate into your existing décor! This warm yet understated metallic is so popular because it works wonderfully with both neutral and more brightly coloured decors, and it also complements many other metals so you don’t need to worry about replacing all your existing cutlery and crockery or fixtures and fittings.

You could invest in industrial-style copper pendant lights or wall lights, or take a contemporary approach with unexpected yet luxury-feeling pieces of copper tableware such as copper martini ‘glasses’ or copper Moscow mule mugs. The latest addition to our exclusive brands collection, Rafters, includes the Grip range of copper-trimmed wooden serving platters and boards that perfectly bring together the modern metallic with rustic materials, and will update your food presentation in a way that’s easy yet practical.

Go green and serene with the Pantone Colour of the Year 2017

Interior design lovers always look forward to the announcement of the Pantone Colour of the Year, and for 2017 the chosen colour is Greenery, a “fresh and zesty-yellow” shade that has a distinctly spring-like, organic and outdoorsy feel - making it the perfect hue for a health food or even vegetarian or vegan restaurant!

Perfect paired with natural wooden furniture, and some real greenery such as succulents, this gorgeous green colour would brighten up even the smallest spaces when used on the walls. Green tableware such as small metal buckets for cutlery and condiments or green coffee cups will add a splash of this zingy colour to your food presentation, but if you’re looking to reinvigorate your buffet table our Dune buffet bowls in Orchard Green from the exclusive Mirage collection of melamine tableware prove that buffet service can be right on-trend too.

Bring a homely and cosy feel with a rustic interior look

Retro vintage and ultra-modern industrial styles have both had their time in the spotlight over the past few years, but several interior design experts are reporting that rustic style (already a long-standing trend) will be a favoured look for restaurants in 2017. Clearly the focus on artisan foods is translating into a wider aesthetic, but the rustic look isn’t just for country pubs as it can easily bring a welcome touch of cosiness to a city-centre location too.

The rustic look can be translated into oversized sofas, comfy armchairs and floral wallpaper for a more dramatic approach. However hand-crafted looking dishes, plates and cups such as the stunning pieces from the Coast range in our exclusive Artisan tableware collection bring the rustic trend right to your table, and provide the perfect backdrop of texture for home-cooked, organic or vegetable-laden dishes.

What other restaurant interiors trends do you think will be big news in 2017? Are you planning to revamp your restaurant, and will you be following any of these on-trend styles? We’d love to hear your thoughts – leave us a comment below or join the conversation at @BunzlLockhart.
